Mission style end table

This is part of my personal Mission Style furniture collection. I'm slowly building complete bedroom set. After I finish the bedroom, I plan to make a couple more Mission Style pieces for the living room.

I built this from plain sawn red oak. The top is given a quarter sawn look by cutting thin, 1 1/4 inch strips and gluing up the top from the strips. It's easier than finding good thick quarter sawn oak.

It was stained with my custom mission stain and top coated with a thinned Minwax Gloss Polyurethane.
